A TripAdvisorâ„¢ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Copacabana, Bolivia by TravelPod blogger Vickersontour titled "The Bolivian version of Copacabana" Vickersontour's travel blog entry: "Our bus for Copacabana picked us up from the Hostel at about 8am, but it was gone 9am before we actually made it out of La Paz! We arrived at San Pedro de Tiquina around 11.15am. We all had to get off the bus and jump on a small motor boat to get to the other side of Lake Titticaca. The questions about the bus were soon answered when a rotting wooden barge pulled up to take our bus across separately. Once again we waved goodbye to our bags, expecting to be fishing them out the lake in about 15mins! Surprisingly, the barge made it all the way across the river, but it was an hilarious thing to see. We jumped back on the bus and within an hour were in Copacabana and 3800 metres above sea level. Lorna wasn't feeling 100% so we broke with normal protocol and grabbed a taxi to our hostel. We had been recommended to go to this hostel - La Cupula - by a few people. It was a bit more expensive than our usual digs, but it was beautiful. The views over Lake Titticaca were magnificent. We had a walk into town to locate the bus stop we need for Sunday's trip to Puno and to take a look around. I don't think Copacabana is as bad as a lot of people make out.
